VPNSouth / Guides
Client Setup and Connection Guide.
Follow the steps for your account, plan, subscription, client, and connection check. Skip anything you’ve already completed. If this is your first time, keep the dashboard open in your browser so you can return to import your subscription after installing the client.
Create an Account and Save Your Login Details
Start by opening the VPNSouth user dashboard and setting a username and password. No email address is required to create an account. Check that your username is available and follow the on-screen instructions to submit it. Use a password you don’t use on other sites, and save it in a password manager you trust so you can sign in more easily from another device.
After submitting, check whether the dashboard has opened your account area. If you’re still on the input screen, read the message next to the relevant field and update your entry rather than submitting repeatedly. If you already have an account, use the “Log in” option in the navigation. You don’t need a new account to install a client on another device. VPNSouth supports unlimited devices, but you’ll need to configure the client on each one.
Once you’re in the dashboard, take a moment to locate the account overview, plans, and downloads sections. Creating an account and activating a plan are separate steps; being able to sign in doesn’t mean your plan is active. Check which billing option you need before starting an order. If you’re installing a client on a device for a plan you already have, go straight to the subscription section.
Choose a Plan and Review Your Order
Open the plans section in the user dashboard and compare monthly plans with data packages. Monthly plans suit regular use: ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB, or ¥28/month for 500GB. Monthly data resets on the plan’s activation date, not at the start of each calendar month. Consider how you browse, use AI tools, and stream video. Don’t choose on price alone, or assume you need a larger data allowance to connect successfully.
If your usage varies, compare the data packages: ¥158 for 300GB, ¥358 for 1000GB, or ¥658 for 3000GB. Data packages don’t expire and remain available until used. The difference from a monthly plan is how billing and data usage work, not simply a different name for the same recurring plan. See the full pricing and plan details on the Plans page, then choose an option in the dashboard.
Before paying, check the plan name, price, and billing method on the order. VPNSouth supports Alipay, WeChat Pay, and USDT; follow the checkout page for payment instructions. After payment, return to the account overview and check your plan status. If it hasn’t updated yet, check the order record and on-screen messages. Don’t place another order just because the client can’t connect yet.
VPNSouth offers a 60-day money-back guarantee. See the Terms of Service for how to request a refund. If you upgrade mid-term, the price difference is converted into remaining days; an upgrade doesn’t restart the full plan period. If you’re unsure how a change will affect your plan, check the FAQ or describe your current order in a dashboard support ticket.
Get Your Subscription and Prepare to Import It
Once your plan is active, open the account overview in the user dashboard and find the subscription section. The subscription link lets your client retrieve server configurations; it isn’t a website for everyday browsing. If the dashboard offers an import button for your client, use that first. To add it manually, copy the subscription link and switch to the client.
Paste the link as copied. Don’t edit its parameters or include spaces, explanatory text, or punctuation from a chat message. The subscription link contains information needed to configure your account, so keep it as securely as you would your login details. Don’t post it publicly or include it in shared documents or screenshots. If you submit a screenshot for support, hide the full link and any identifying parameters.
The key distinction is simple: the dashboard provides the subscription, while the client reads its configuration and connects. A “Copied” message in your browser only confirms the link was copied; it doesn’t mean the client has retrieved the servers. In the client, check that the subscription entry or server list has updated successfully to complete this step.
If the dashboard doesn’t show an available subscription, first check that you’re signed in to the right account and that your plan is active. Don’t look for a replacement link in someone else’s post, and don’t paste the dashboard URL as a subscription. If you have questions about your account status, describe the issue in the support tickets section of the dashboard. Troubleshooting details are in the Help Center; this guide continues with client setup.
Configure Clients on Each Platform
Open the downloads section in the dashboard and choose the platform you’re using. After signing in, you can get clients for Windows, macOS, Android, and Linux. For iOS, follow the dashboard’s instructions about download eligibility and access. You need to sign in to get a subscription; being able to download a client doesn’t mean a plan is active. The steps below cover desktop and mobile. Client names and interfaces may vary by version; use the one provided in the dashboard.
Windows: Add a Subscription in Configuration Management
In the downloads section, choose the VPNSouth client for Windows, install it as prompted, and open it. These clients retrieve server configurations through a subscription, so you don’t need to enter server details one by one. On first launch, look for “Subscription,” “Configuration,” or “Configuration Management.” If the dashboard offers an import option, return to your browser, select it, and confirm that it opens the client you installed.
To import manually, choose Add Subscription or Import from Link in the configuration section, paste the subscription link, enter a label you’ll recognize if prompted, and save. Then refresh the subscription and check that the server list appears. If there are multiple entries, make sure the newly added subscription is selected rather than an older configuration. Once the servers appear, avoid running other proxy tools at the same time and continue below to check your connection.
macOS: Confirm the Configuration and Allow Network Access
Choose the macOS client in the dashboard, then install and open it as instructed. In a VPNSouth client that supports subscription management, look for Configuration or Subscription Management in the main window or menu bar. If you use the browser’s import option, check whether macOS asks you to confirm opening the client. Before confirming, make sure the app name matches the one you installed.
To import using a link, add a subscription, paste the link, save it, and refresh the configuration. Wait for the server list to appear. On first connection, macOS may ask to allow network configuration or permissions. Read the system prompt before confirming. If you’ve closed the client window, check the menu bar for a running app before assuming the program has quit. After importing, choose a server and follow the verification steps to check that traffic is routed through the connection.
Android: Import a Subscription and Approve the System Request
Get the Android client from the dashboard’s downloads section and follow your device’s installation instructions. Open the VPNSouth client that supports subscription import and use the matching import option in the dashboard if available. If the browser doesn’t open the app, return to the account overview, copy the subscription link, and choose Add from Link in the client’s configuration or subscription screen.
Paste and save the link, then refresh the subscription. Check that available servers appear before opening the connection screen. On first connection, Android may show a VPN connection request. Confirm only after checking that the app and request match what you’re doing. A system connection indicator only confirms that a network connection has been established; open the app you actually want to use to test it. If the connection changes when the client goes into the background, check the client’s messages and your device’s background settings. Don’t repeatedly delete your account or place another order.
iOS: Get the Client and Configuration as Directed in the Dashboard
After signing in, open the iOS download option in the dashboard and follow the instructions to get the appropriate client. Access to the iOS client requires a purchased plan that hasn’t expired. If you see an eligibility message, check your account’s plan status first. Don’t use an installer for another platform or look for an alternative download from an unfamiliar site. Once the client is ready, return to the account overview to get your subscription.
If an import option is available, select it and follow the browser prompts to open the client. To import manually, find Subscription or Configuration Management in the client, add the link, and refresh it. If the system asks to add a VPN configuration, confirm that the request comes from the action you just took, then follow your device’s prompts to authorize it. Return to the client, select the imported configuration and a server, and connect. If the import completes but no servers appear, check the refresh result instead of adding the same subscription again.
Connect to a Server and Check Your Connection
Return to the client, select the subscription you imported, then choose a region and server from the list. You can start with a location that suits the website or app you want to use; there’s no need to switch servers repeatedly just to try more options. Connect, wait for the client to show its status, and check for any system authorization or configuration errors. See the Server List for details about regions and server types. The available options in your client may vary.
When the client shows “Connected,” open the website you want to use and refresh the page, or reopen the target app. If the browser still shows an old error page, visit the site again to get a clearer result. A working webpage or a successful request in the app is more useful than the connection button alone. Different apps may use different network routes, so a working browser doesn’t guarantee that other software is using the same connection.
To check further, compare your exit IP and its region before and after connecting, and consider your client’s routing or proxy settings. Don’t judge by a changed exit IP alone: in split-tunneling mode, some sites connect directly according to your rules, so seeing the original exit IP doesn’t necessarily mean there’s a problem. Check DNS results in the context of your current mode and the client’s documentation. When you’re getting started, don’t change system network settings just to make the results look consistent.
If the app still can’t connect, first confirm that the subscription updated successfully, the correct configuration is enabled, and system authorization was granted. Then check whether another proxy tool is running at the same time. You can try another server that fits the target region and reopen the app to test. Change one setting at a time and note what happens before and after so it’s easier to identify the cause.
If you still need help, browse the connection and troubleshooting topics in the FAQ, or submit a dashboard support ticket with your platform, the client’s message, the selected region, and the error shown by the app. Don’t include your full subscription link or password. For more about server costs, billing trade-offs, and using the service across devices, see the Service Selection Guide. Once you’ve completed this guide, everyday use usually means opening the client, choosing a server, and connecting when needed.
To use VPNSouth on another device, sign in to the same account, get the client for that platform from the dashboard, and import your subscription. VPNSouth supports unlimited devices. Data usage still follows your chosen billing option; check your remaining allowance and plan status in the account overview.
